Event Details

This is a self-paced, open entry and open exit workshop conducted completely online.

KITCenter virtual workshops are designed to deliver timely content on demand. Workshops may contain video, podcasts, websites, discussion groups and downloadable information. Participants may occasionally be required to participate in online discussions.

This virtual workshop will be an introduction of how to use ArcMap.

In this workshop you will learn how to join data to a shapefile.  You will download US Census data and shapefiles that are in the public domain.  You will join data from the Census Bureau to the geographic shape and create a new file.

This workshop will also teach you the basics of making a map. You will either need to have a local copy of ArcMap (ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcInfo) available or use a remote copy.  If you do not have a local copy, please let us know and we can make available a remote copy that is a fully functional version.
